Mission Statement
The Finnish Society of Edmonton is dedicated to preserving and promoting Finnish culture, language, and heritage within the Edmonton community.
We strive to foster a sense of belonging and pride among Finnish-Canadians, while also sharing our rich traditions with the broader public.
Through cultural events, educational programs, and community outreach, we aim to strengthen the bonds between Finland and Canada, ensuring that the Finnish spirit thrives for generations to come.

Drop-in activities 2:30 – 4:30 pm • BBQ 4:30 – 5:30 pm
PLEASE BRING YOUR FAMILY OUT TO ENJOY AN AFTERNOON BBQ, FUN AND GAMES !!!
We’ll celebrate the spring season with outdoor family games and activities.
We will be having BBQ burgers, hotdogs, potato salad, dessert, pop and coffee.
Drop-in activities include:
Playground
Mölkky Tournament
Nature Scavenger Hunt
PlayDoh Building competition
In the case of rain we can:
play cards and board games
PlayDoh and coloring activities for kids in the lounge

This is a free event included with your current membership.
But an RSVP would be appreciated so we can calculate how much food will be required.

2026 PLANNED EVENTS
- May 16 – 18, Victoria Day work weekend and the semi-annual general meeting at Fork Lake campsite.
- Our traditional Juhannus party at the lake June 20 – 21.
- September 5 – 7, Labour Day work weekend at the lake.
- Annual seniors’ bus trip in September.
- In October Thanksgiving potluck dinner and closing the camp site for winter. The Annual General Meeting in Edmonton.
- December 5, Christmas party at the Milbourne Community Hall.
